Lady Jets Defeat North Florida CC
The South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets began their 2005-2006 season with an impressive 86-48 victory over North Florida Community College. According to an article in the Americus Times Recorder , the Lady Jets were led by Ronesha Waymon who scored 14 points, LaSnondra Dodson with 12 points, Quanisha Pinkins with 12 points, and Yetta McKenzie with 11 points.
The Lady Jets forced 34 turnovers and held North Florida to 22.1% shooting from the floor -15 of 68.

The Lady Jets will travel to Tallahassee this weekend where they will play Tallahassee CC, Clinton JC, and Alabama Southern CC.
A NEW SEASON BEGINS FOR SGTC
Jets Defeat Pyexpress 79-59 To Open Season
The South Georgia Technical College Jets opened the 2005-06 season with a 79-59 victory over Pyexpress. James Perry led the way for the Jets with 24 points, Ziyadah Carter had 12, and Gordon Cross had 10.
The Jets will travel to Marianna, Florida this weekend where they will take on Shelton State at 3:30 PM (CST) Friday Afternoon and Chipola College on Saturday Night at 7:00 PM (CST).
The two games will feature three state championship teams from last season. SGTC won the Georgia JC Tournament, Shelton State won the Alabama JC Tournament, and Chipola College won the Florida JC Tournament. However, the Jets do not have any players returning from their championship team; this year's Jets team, although extremely talented, will receive an early introduction to the elite of Junior College basketball. Chipola College and Shelton State are both ranked in the preseason NJCAA top twenty.
